Senate Committee Releases Statement, Harrowsing Charged

The senate inquisitorial committee released a statement today after a 2 month investigation into the allegations that Senior Hindopian Ambassador to the World Assembly Vargas Harrowsing has been embezzling money from the Office of Diplomatic Affairs' General Fund Account.

Before the statement was made Harrowsing was called back from the WA World Headquarters and given the chance to surrender willingly. He did and was transferred to Ibergatis Regional Holding House and was formally charged there.

IC Chairman Harold Murcan says that the committee gathered strong evidence that suggested Harrowsing was in fact stealing money from the General Fund.
"There is quite a pile of evidence mounting against Ambassador Harrowsing in this case. Unfortunately, as this is an ongoing investigation, I cannot give any details as to exactly what this evidence is but rest assured it will come out in due time. Ambassador Harrowsing was called back from WA Headquarters by the President on our advice. He was questioned by the entire Committee and it was determined that it was prudent to formally charge him. He voluntarily surrendered to police and has been transferred to Ibergatis Regional Holding House. He will be arraigned tomorrow morning at 9:35 am."

This event is unprecedented. Never in the history of Hindopian diplomatic relations has one of our own ambassadors been arrested by Hindopian police. Because of the case’s unusual nature, it is unknown if the Ambassador's case will be heard by a court or by the Senate.

If Harrowsing is convicted of the crime he risks a possible sentence of 35 years and a definite one of 9 years. He has yet to release a media statement. President Vargas’ nephew James Vargas will temporarily fill in for Harrowsing at the WA General Assembly.
